A sweet surprise at camp 🍪

This week at camp we were treated to the most delicious, home-baked cookies—courtesy of a local gem, Sweet 9, a small, family-owned baking company based right here in Minnesota.

From the first bite, it was clear these weren’t your average store-bought sweets. Soft, fresh, and made with care, the cookies were a hit with campers and staff alike. But even more meaningful than the taste is the story behind them.

Sweet 9 was started by parents who care deeply about what their kids eat. Every cookie and small cake they bake is made from natural ingredients—no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors. Their mission is simple but powerful: to bring back real sweets made with real ingredients, and to give families the option of something better.

As parents themselves, they believe in protecting children’s health by eliminating unnecessary chemicals from the foods they love most. Their passion shows in every batch—and we certainly felt the love here at camp.

Sweet 9 is about to open a store in Osseo, MN, and they’re hoping to share their cookies with more schools and communities across the state. For anyone who’s interested in learning more or supporting their work, you can find them here:

We’re grateful for Sweet 9’s generosity and for the care they put into everything they bake. Moments like this remind us how powerful community can be—and how even something as small as a cookie can leave a big impact.
